NYC based Investment Management firm is seeking an assistant to the CEO, a Portfolio Manager overseeing more than $1B in managed high net worth client accounts. Candidate should have broad range of experience in portfolio management administration, reviewing accounts, interfacing with clients and a keen interest in investing, in stocks and what is happening in financial markets. This role operates as part of a larger team of four, including the CEO, one Portfolio Manager and one Portfolio Manager Assistant and a part-time college intern who supports the larger group.
Job responsibilities: High touch client service, frequent phone and in person client interaction. Proactive review of client accounts on a regular basis along with CEO. Interfacing regularly with Shared Services (Trading, Client Service, Operation, Compliance). Candidate will share administrative functions with another PM assistant with 5 years tenure working for the CEO. This includes opening new client accounts, preparing investment reports with performance, trade processing and trade allocations. Facility with technology, including using a PMS, and, strong Microsoft Excel skills required. Must have a demonstrated ability as an effective executive assistant, being organized and productive, working well with others, being proactive and taking ownership of areas of responsibility. Candidate will have an excellent opportunity to advance in this role.
Requirements: Must have Series 7 and 63 licenses and must have 5-10 years of relevant experience working as a Portfolio Assistant for one Portfolio Manager in related asset or investment firm (e.g. JP Morgan, US Trust, Citi Private Bank etc.). Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner with minimal direction from CEO; able to raise problems quickly, admit errors and resolve quickly if needed; strong time-management, oral and written communications, independent thinker, and must take the initiative. Proficient in MS Word and Excel - ability to learn new software systems required. Strong organizational skills, ability to work with teams broadly across the firm, detail oriented, able to operate across different departments internally.
Hours/Benefits: 8:30-5:30 (40 hours per week with overtime as needed); Medical, dental, vision; 401K w/ strong match; firm bonus & cash bonus.
